Not Sure Which Service You Need?

That's common — and it's fine.

Some people arrive with a specific form, vaccine name, or test request. Most arrive with a situation: a trip coming up, a placement starting, a new job requirement, a question about records that's been on the to-do list for a while.

If you're not sure which service applies to you, contact JEMA and we'll help you figure out the right starting point. Or keep reading — the descriptions below are written to help you find yourself.

How JEMA Can Help

Choose the Situation That Sounds Most Like Yours.

Travel Health Services

A woman in a red jacket and sunglasses standing in front of the Great Wall of China, with tourists and cars nearby, surrounded by trees and hills.

Who this is for: Anyone preparing for travel — for a vacation, cruise, backpacking trip, work assignment, mission trip, humanitarian project, family visit, study abroad, or long-term travel.

What JEMA does: We review your full itinerary — destination, route, stopovers, activities, timing, food plan, and health and vaccine history — and tell you exactly what's recommended for your specific trip. Not a destination lookup. A real assessment.

Services include: pre-travel consultation, post-travel consultation, travel vaccines and immunizations, Yellow Fever consultation and vaccination, oral travel medications, and destination-specific health guidance.

Occupational Health / Workplace Services

A person filling out an application form with a black pen, sitting at a wooden table with a black desk pad. On the table, there is a marble-patterned ashtray and a blank sheet of paper.

Who this is for: Workers, employees, and individuals who need health testing, vaccines, or documentation for a job — including new hires completing pre-employment requirements, workers in healthcare, industry, or high-risk environments, and anyone with a workplace mandate to meet.

What JEMA does: We help individuals and workers complete occupational health requirements efficiently and accurately — so the paperwork gets done right and the employer gets what they actually need.

Services include: TB testing, mask fit testing, blood collection, urine collection, vaccine updates and documentation, workplace health consultation, and occupational health form completion.

Student Services

Three women are walking together at a train station, with their backs facing the camera, arms around each other. They are in front of a yellow and silver train, and the station has an arched roof with steel beams.

Who this is for: Students entering nursing, healthcare, education, or other programs that require placement or practicum documentation — including those starting a clinical placement, completing a healthcare program, or submitting school health forms for the first time.

What JEMA does: Placement forms are more complicated than they look. Requirements vary by institution, program, and placement site, and the consequences of getting them wrong are a delay you can't always afford. JEMA helps you understand what's actually required, completes the testing and vaccines that are needed, and ensures the documentation is right before it goes anywhere.

Services include: immunization review and catch-up vaccines, TB testing, mask fit testing, blood and urine collection, school placement form completion, and documentation support.

Newcomer Services

Who this is for: People who are new to Canada or new to Newfoundland and Labrador and need help understanding what vaccines they have, what's required for school, work, or daily life in Canada, and what steps to take next.

What JEMA does: Navigating a new health system is genuinely complicated — especially when your records are from another country, in another language, or simply incomplete. JEMA can review what you have, explain what it means in the Canadian context, identify any gaps, and help you get the documentation and vaccines you need to move forward.

Services include: immunization record review, vaccine updates and catch-up vaccines, TB testing, newcomer health consultation, and documentation support for school and workplace requirements.

Employer Services

Who this is for: Employers and HR managers who need to coordinate workplace health requirements across a team — including pre-employment health screening, ongoing occupational health compliance, vaccine documentation, and group testing.

What JEMA does: JEMA works with employers who need reliable, accurate occupational health support for their staff — not a general clinic squeezing it in between appointments. We understand what workplace requirements look like, what employers need documented, and how to make the coordination efficient.

Services include: employee vaccine documentation, TB testing programs, mask fit testing, blood and urine collection, workplace health consultation, and on-site or mobile clinic coordination for groups.

Practitioner Consults

Who this is for: Healthcare providers — pharmacists, physicians, school health coordinators, occupational health practitioners — who need specialist travel health guidance for a patient who isn't local to JEMA or who requires specialized advice beyond what a general practice can confidently provide.

What JEMA does: JEMA is the clinic other providers call when they need travel health expertise. We offer short, focused practitioner consults to help healthcare professionals understand the right recommendations, vaccine schedules, destination risks, and next steps for their patients.

Virtual consults are available for practitioners outside St. John's.
