We Look at Your Full Trip & Planned Activities.

Not Just Lookup Your Destination.

Getting ready to travel? JEMA provides the personalized health guidance, vaccines, and documentation you need before you go — based on your actual itinerary, not a generic checklist.

We also support students, workers, newcomers, families, and employers navigating health requirements. Whatever brought you here, we'll help you leave with a clear plan.

Your Trip Deserves More Than a Destination Look Up.

Travel health is rarely as simple as looking up a country and checking a vaccine list.

Where you're going matters. So does how long you're staying, where you're sleeping, what you'll be eating, what you'll be doing, whether you're travelling through other countries on the way, and what your vaccine and medical history looks like.

At JEMA, We Look at All of It.

That means the guidance you leave with actually fits the trip you planned — and you can spend the rest of your prep thinking about the parts that are worth looking forward to.

Student & Workplace Services

Placement forms and workplace health requirements can be confusing — especially when you're not sure what's actually required versus what's optional.

JEMA helps students and workers make sense of the paperwork, complete the testing and vaccines that are needed, and submit documentation that's right the first time.

The Clinic Other Clinics Call

Jema Has Been Part of Travel Health in Newfoundland and Labrador Since 2001.

Woman with glasses and reddish-brown hair sitting in a room with a world map on the wall, a potted plant, and a lamp in the background, posing with her chin resting on her hand.

The clinic was founded by Margot Mayo, a registered nurse who helped establish travel medicine as a recognized specialty in the province — at a time when those services simply weren't available through public health. Margot spent decades building a reputation on one principle: take the time, explain it clearly, and make sure every patient leaves better prepared than when they arrived.

Angela Parsons, JEMA's current owner, trained alongside Margot before taking over the clinic. That handover wasn't incidental — it was deliberate. Angela brings a nursing background across emergency, ICU, surggery, organ donation, and long-term care, and a genuine passion for travel medicine that led her to JEMA in the first place. She's continued everything that made the clinic worth coming back to, and built on it.

That history matters — not as a milestone, but as a reason to trust.

When other healthcare providers in the province need guidance on travel health for their patients, they call JEMA. JEMA’s travel medicine services are led by Angela Parsons, BNRN, CTH®, who holds the Certificate in Travel Health™ through the International Society of Travel Medicine (ISTM). This internationally recognized travel medicine credential reflects specialized knowledge in travel health care and consultation.

When clients have been sent in circles by pharmacies or general practitioners, they end up here. When someone wants an actual answer instead of a destination lookup, this is where they come.

Twenty-five years of that. Still going.
